10 down and 5 to go!

Today was our 10th round of chemo and her counts were great and she's been feeling well, her legs have been alittle purple this weekend but she was on them a bit more this weekend with Josh & Jamie's playoffs this weekend (they both won, yipee!) and Meghan was doing the announcing for a few of the games. We are back down next Tuesday for blood counts and she hasn't had any headaches since. Her doctor feels they could be cluster headaches or migraines, but we'll see what happens.

Hopefully things stay stable for awhile :)

Hello

Meghan has been headache free since last Friday, YIPEE! We haven't been down the hospital this week and she is scheduled for chemo on Monday. She's being going without her wig alot lately and everyone says is it looks amazing but you try telling a 15 year old that :) Yesterday she went over to her girlfriend Maddy's house and they baked cookies and here are some pictures of my beautiful Meghan, I hope you all enjoy!

Back down the hospital again today!

Meghan had a headache last weekend for 4 days and was vomiting as well and when we went on Monday they did a CT scan and checked her eyes and by Monday afternoon the headache was gone. Well yesterday around lunch she got the headache back and was quite sick and after 2 codeine, gravol and an ativan to help her finally get to sleep at 4 am this morning her headache was still there so I called our nurse and we were advised to bring her in with her history. We arrived at Sick Kids around 12:30 today (Friday) and we were seen by the ER doctor and than neurology and they feel that it's either migraines like her mother (yipee) or it could be pressure in her head caused from the chemo meds which is common and the way to check that is to do an LP (Lumbar Puncture in the spine) and relieve the pressure. So right now the headache is gone and we'll monitor it and if it doesn't go away than they will schedule an LP. We left the hospital around 8:30 pm and we're exhausted and hungry but we didn't have to stay, thank goodness!

We'll keep you posted.

Wednesday, June 13th

We were down at Sick Kids yesterday at 8:50 am in the eye clinic, where I brought Josh and Jamie because the doctor on Monday asked us to bring Josh because he had papilledema (optic nerve swelling) when he was younger and they wondered if it may be hereditary but when we got there she didn't know why they asked us to bring him so it was a waste of time for them to come but the 4 of us got quality time together. This picture is taking in the waiting room of the eye clinic at Sick Kids, don't they look happy! Anyways they weren't concerned they see some calcium build up but nothing to worry about, thank goodness!

Tuesday, June 12th (Happy 19th Birthday Josh!

Yesterday we were down at the hospital for blood work and while we were there I informed her nurse that she has been having headaches all weekend and wasn't feeling well so they decided to do a CT scan and see the opthamologist, especially with Meghan's history. Her CT scan came back fine and they saw some swelling on her optic nerves which is the same as before but they don't know if this is normal or not so we have to go back down tomorrow morning to see the optic nerve specialist. We are back down on June 25th for chemo. Meghan's back has been very sore in the last few days and with the headaches she's not been feeling that great. We'll be keeping a close eye on her and if anything changes we are to contact the hospital.

Sunday, June 10th

Friday was spa day for Meghan and a friend. Through Sick Kids, the lymphoma & lukemia dept. offered a day at the spa, breakfast at Starbucks and than on to Marvel's beauty school where they got manicures, pedicures, their make-up and hair done, with lunch included as well. It was in Yorkville and it was free for the girls. There was about 18 of them and she got a chance to meet a few girls that will be going to camp.

Meghan finished chemo on Friday but hasn't been feeling that well this weekend, she has had a headache for the last two days and this morning she was up early and she fell asleep on the couch which is not likeher at all and when she woke from her nap she was sick, but felt much better after that. We are back down tomorrow for blood work and hopefully everything is fine. Her temperature and BP has been stable so I'm just keeping a close eye on her.

Here is a picture of Meghan and Samantha at the spa on Friday.

Oh and while Meghan was at the spa for the day Jamie and I went out to lunch and she was treated to a manicure and pedicure, as she deserves special treatment once in awhile as well, I got a manicure.

9 down 6 more to go!

Yesterday Meghan & I headed down for her 9th round of chemo, we got there at 9:10 and there was NO line-up which barely ever happens and she had her blood work and was in the waiting room by 9:30 with barely anyone in there. We were called to the weigh scale and off to see the doctor by 10:30. Everything looks good, they are writing her up in the medical books again regarding the circulation problem and the chemo med. We were ready for chemo at 11 and had to sit and wait until 1:40 before the chemo was up from the pharmacy, but we were on our way home by 2pm. You just never know what your day is going to be like, you get there late and it looks busy and you can be out in a couple of hours or you get there early and you're there for hours, you just never know. Anyhow we got to visit with a few of the nurses on 8A and we also got to spend quality time together. When we got home her back was quite sore and she was very pale by the end of the day, the doctors had made a comment earlier that she had nice red cheeks so I really noticed how pale she was. Anyhow things are good and we are happy to be more than half way down, hurray! We are back down on Monday for blood counts.
