Tues. Jan 30th

Well everything is still the same. Meghan was quite sick in the night on Friday and I was so worried that she was getting that stomach flu but luckily nothing came of it. I've been giving her half a gravol at bedtime with 1 codeine and it seems to help her sleep through the night which will hopefully help bring her counts up on Friday because of the rest. We have also been keeping her in the house and away from everyone. I did get her out on Saturday for a very tiny walk but a least it was alittle fresh air and not around people. We have a meeting tomorow at EYCI to figure out classes for school next semester which starts Friday and unfortunately she won't be able to attend becasue we're down at the hospital and of course we're back down Monday as well with a follow up appt. with the gynaecology dept.

I will let you all know how Friday goes.

Thanks again to everyone for all their love and support!

Friday, Jan. 26th

Yet again we wait!

Her counts were still down today so they couldn't do chemo, AGAIN! Everything else seems to be going well, they just want her to rest and of course for the past 2 weeks she has rested, she hasn't even left the house except to go down to Sick Kids. But I did realize that she hasn't had a good night sleep in over a week so that may be why her counts haven't gone up. I think I might give her 1/2 a gravol tonight because she is usually up in the night or tossing and turning and can't fall asleep, maybe that would let her have a good night sleep and that could be the "rest" that she needs, as she doesn't sleep in the day because she knows she won't fall asleep at night.

I did ask her again about school and that almost everyone I've spoken to doesn't feel that it's a good idea, but they are very much for them going to school, getting them out of the house (away from her best friend, that's me) being around friends and trying to keep up with the school work and that she can't live in a bubble and that she's going to catch something and it can't be avoided. So we have an appt. next week at school to go over classes, we're only thinking of 2 classes right now and still continuing the homeschooling.

Anyhow we'll see what happens. We have to go back next Friday for chemo (let's keep our fingers crossed)!

Thanks again to you all!

Mon. Jan. 22nd

Happy Birthday Grandma Sue!

Well it was an unsuccessful day today, unfortunately her counts were down so they wouldn't do chemo. We laid low last week and didn't leave the house because she was low last Monday, so we'll be laying low again this week. She has to go back on Friday for chemo and they'll check her counts again, so we'd appreciate it if we have NO visitors this week as we don't want her chemo delayed again or worse catch something and end up in the hospital, we also have to watch for fevers. She's been feeling okay but she definitely looks pale and heavy eyed. The good thing is she has gained weight and she's been doing very well with her eating.

Hopefully she's better by Friday!

Mon. Jan. 15th

We headed down to the hospital this morning without Joe (our first time :*( without him) and we actually made good time in the weather and there were no line ups, I guess many people were late because of the weather or took the subway. She has gained weight about 1/2 a kg which the dietitian was very happy about. She really worked hard last week on eating what she's suppose to. Her blood counts weren't ready when we left so the nurse said she'd call us this afternoon with the counts and she did and her counts are low right now so that means she's at risk right now for infections so if you have a cough or cold, please stay away. We are back down for chemo next Monday but other than that she's been doing well. We've been debating going back to school for 2nd semester but we are very torn between the germs, her weight (getting knocked over in the hallways), her walking and energy level but than on the other hand there's getting back to school with friends and a more normal lifestyle, but we'll see how things go closer to the end of the month.

We appreciate all our friends and family and everyones comments.

Bless you all,

Michelle

Sun. Jan. 14th

Well I hope everyone likes the changes as Meghan choose the black background and my cousin added the picture of Meghan (I love that picture of her) and of course we had fun adding the celebrity photos of Meghan just for fun of her graduation picture.

We've had a pretty good week so far and we're headed back down tomorrow morning for the usual blood tests, etc. Meghan has been eating and drinking her homo milk so let's all hope for a few kgs. Although Meghan is still quite thin she actually looks good.

I hope you all enjoy the changes and pictures we've added and I'll try to wite this week with tomorrow's results.

Tues. Jan. 9th

I wrote last night but for some reason it didn't post, sorry about that.

We were down at the hospital yesterday and her blood counts were good and she gained .2kgs, so we're back to seeing the dietitian because they really need to get her weight back up. We are trying to get the physio back to twice a week to build up the muscle in her legs to make sure it's not the muscle, it won't hurt to build them up anyways.

She did pretty well last week on the chemo, better than the other 2 rounds, maybe she's getting use to it, scary! They are trying to cut back a bit on the codeine to one pill instead of two, and she's been trying to do that herself anyways, she hates taking medication. She is still having back pain but she's a trooper.

Here's a picture of Meghan with Jamie & Josh and the bottom pictures is of Meghan with her cousins (l to r) Isabelle, Liam & Ethan over the holidays.

Tues. Jan. 2nd

Happy New Year everyone :)

I'm sorry about the delay but we've been having computer troubles, anyhow since the last time Meghan feel on christmas eve and banged up her knee so when we were back down at the hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 27th they put her on an antibiotic because her knee looked infected but unfortunately it made her sick so when we went back down today for chemo her weight has dropped right back down to the same weight when we left the hospital and thankfully they have stopped the antibiotic. They also did an echo (which is an ultrasound on her heart) today and then she had the chemo and we were home around 3:30 p.m. we will get the results from the echo on Monday. Other than that she's been pretty good, she is still not walking properly so they are going to send her for a nerve conduction because the chemo may be effecting the nerves in her feet which is effecting her walking.

Our Christmas was wonderful, you really appreciate your family and what you have or where we've been and it makes it all worthwhile.

Here's hoping 2007 is a better year for all of us!
